This is a group for guys looking for drinking buddies. It could involve deep philosophical discussions or just stupid base guy BS. Intended for guys, not girls (though girls can come hit on us if you want). I'm straight; if you're gay that doesn't matter, as long as you don't use it for a forum to pick up guys. Looking for relationship advice? Go ask a girl. Want to whine all night about your boss-wife-girlfriend? You have 30 seconds of whining, get it out...then shut up, have a beer, move on …

San Francisco is a very vegetarian friendly city, and we are so lucky for that! However, on the outskirts of the city, in towns such as Pacifica, I find it a little more challenging to meet other veg friendly folk, and enjoy the meals, drinks and conversations that I have experienced in some of my other veg meetup groups... So I decided to start veg drinks in Pacifica, so that more of us veg locals, can enjoy a few drinks, maybe a bite to eat, and some like-minded conversations with other ve …
Picture this. It's Tuesday night in the city. You've had a crappy week at work already and the rest of it isn't looking so great either. The last thing you want to do is go to the gym or sit on the couch and watch NCIS with a pint of ice cream. All of your friends are too responsible (lame) to go out drinking with you. What's the solution? Pub Quiz. You don't have a drinking problem if you and 8 other friends have a perfectly good reason to be out on the town. ----------------------- Th …

Meeting fun new people in the city is really difficult. We hope our group makes this easier by organizing small group meetups over drinks. It's low cost, low time commitment, and we work with the coolest venues in the city.
I enjoy a good drink and San Francisco has a rich tradition in drinking that goes back to the Gold Rush, runs through Prohibition and remains today. The goal of this group is to find hidden gems that offer well crafted drinks and a unique experience unlike your typical bar.

Living Skeptically started as Drinking Skeptically in Berkeley, but since the creator of the group doesn't drink, it needed to expand. Living Skeptically in Berkeley is for hosting gatherings of skeptics, atheists, freethinkers, and doubters in and around Berkeley, CA. The creator, Ursula, lives in South Berkeley, and likes grilling out in her front yard when it is sunny, taking walks around town and hiking, going to movies, theater, and concerts, and attending social and cultural gatherings. Ba …
Forget beer and frou-frou martinis. I love scotch! Do you? Let's trade tips, good finds, and go drinking (and dining) together. Are you in?

Single, Married or It's Complicated...all 30's and 40's are welcome. This Peninsula Happy Hour group is a unique meetup group created to provide our local socialites with a fun after-work opportunity to meet people and make friends while exploring the Peninsula's drinking establishments. I've frequented many of SF's social meetups but have recently moved to the Peninsula and have noticed we need a few more social groups if you ask me. So, if your new in town, a long time local just wanting to …

Join us if you're based in and around Palo Alto and are looking to meet new, young people in the area. We're all about getting out of the house and making the most of the area. Events will include meeting for drinks, trips to the movies or comedy clubs. We're open to suggestions so if you've found something great happening in the area, let us know. We're not restricted to Palo Alto either. If there's something interesting happening in San Francisco/San Jose, let's go for it! Looking forward to m …
I was recently inspired by a New York Times article about informal science and technology lectures that are being held in bars and clubs in NYC. Here's my vision: to organize an informal lecture series at local (and supportive) bars/cafes on whatever topics interest intellectually minded folk (Astrophysics? Anthropology? Health and Wellness? You tell me!). The lecture becomes a place to learn, meet other people, have a drink and interesting conversation, or share what you know! At this point, I' …
… So if you want to explore new restaurants, dine out, do lunch and network with people over great food & drinks, all w/o breaking the bank, this is your group.

We're a group of Bay Area friends -- in our 20s to 40s -- who enjoy fine dining experiences. Although our focus is Palo Alto and its restaurants and fine dining establishments, we sometimes expand our reach to other parts of the Bay Area. By the way, non-Palo Altans may apply for membership to this group as well. We will keep our somewhat upscale dinners to a reasonable size (usually around 10) to facilitate quality of interaction. You'll be asked to pay a small organization fee to reserve your …
Happy days, Just thought I would throw this out as a posting board for things to do, people to meet and just not be alone during the holidays, and the winter months. The concept is post day trips, outings, movies, public events, not just one type. Thinking a train trip to Old Sacramento, the ferry to the city, ice skating at Embacadero. Walnut Creek. throw in a lunch or dinner, maybe drinks, dancing. Open to suggestions, or recommendations for people new to the area to see or do. Maybe you would …
… Really anything and everything... hiking, exploring our local neighborhoods, going out for dinner or drinks, cooking and eating together, going to festivals and shows, playing games, etc. You are welcome to post an event, whether as a suggestion to the organizer or to host yourself. Many of us use public transportation, so the more accessible the event is, the better! But beyond that, we're open to anything. :)

I have been hosting happy hours in SF for several years now and each have always brought together a fun group of people that understand how to work hard and play harder. This is a great way to try out new bars that just open or revisit bars you've been at before. Just another excuse to get together over yummy drinks, delicious food (sometimes), meet new friends and possibly meet someone special *wink. Open to people that are single (I've introduced quite a few couples through these happy hours h …

We are busy people who love to read. This book group will focus on reading short stories and short novels (under 250 pages) and discussing them over drinks. The group will be run informally and you are encouraged to attend even if you didn't finish the reading. We will meet once a month within the city of San Francisco.
Meet other apocalypse sci fi lovers over drinks at various cozy bars in the city! Each month we will read a book with an apocalyptic setting picked by either the organizer or voted upon by members. P.S. Some people have asked about what the 1.00 fee is/how is it used.... Most meetup events charge a low fee because meetup costs to start a group. (when an organizer makes a group they have to pay before it is posted. This fee helps reimburse me for the money I paid, as well as cutting down on no s …
This group is for guys who are either new in town or just want to meet some cool people. I just moved to the Bay Area and am looking to meet some other guys to do some of the things I enjoy, such as drinking wine, talking about life, playing poker, hiking and playing sports. I've got a great girlfriend so I'm not as interested in going out to bars and scamming on hotties (but we can reminisce about that one time...). If you enjoy conversation and meeting new people, let's all grab a beer or a gl …

A group designed for young adults (ages 24-35)who love the outdooors and camping with other fun people. Camping is done at campgrounds within approximately 150 miles of San Francisco. Trips are based around cooking great campfire food and enjoying what the outdoors has to offer. We require that we meet each individual prior to going camping. This is not only to ensure safety, but also about getting to know each individual and their desired level of camping. We find that meeting prior to a cam …
